Chapter 112
Danica hadn't anticipated Hannah dropping the truth about the secret marriage so bluntly. Her lips twitched faintly, and her face contorted with fury. "Hannah, what trash are you blabbering? Hold your tongue. I handed over those estates for what?"
"What estates?" Vincent's cold tone sliced through the tension, grabbing the room's attention as the onlookers instinctively shifted aside.
Before Hannah could respond,Danica promptly stepped in and attempted to defuse the tension. "Vincent, it's nothing important. Why don't you go bid the guests farewell? I'll settle this."
One glance at the frozen triangle of women was all Vincent needed to grasp-conflict had erupted again. He caught the unease in Brinley's demeanor and instinctively slid an arm around Hannah's waist, attempting to guide Hannah away."Don't cause a scene. Let's leave."
But Hannah shoved him off and retreated a few steps. "I'm staying here until this gets sorted." She raised her volume."Right here, right now-make it clear. Who's your lawfulspouse?"
Vincent stood there in silence, feeling this wasn't the time or place to go public. His brows knit together. "This is my grandma's celebration. Could you not choose such a time?"
Brinley's heart danced with delight. Vincent was unmistakably backing her up. She darted to his side, pretending to be hurt."I don't know what's wrong with Hannah today. She's been attacking me nonstop. I truly have no clue why." Danica hadn't anticipated Hannah dropping the truth about the secret marriage so bluntly. She's been attacking me nonstop. I truly have no clue why." Danica quickly added, "Vincent, you need to put your foot down. Hannah's lost her grip."
With both Danica and Vincent siding with Brinley, the spectators immediately shifted their opinion-Hannah was cast as the aggressor again.
Hannah felt the sting of their mocking, dismissive glances.Brinley and Danica even shared a brief, triumphant smirk.
Vincent's jaw tensed as his gaze swept across the murmuring crowd. He reached for Hannah once more, but she stormed off before he could reach her-his fingers grazed only the trailing fabric of her gown.
Hannah strode to the massive display in the hall, pulled a USB stick from her handbag, and inserted it into the screen's input.
Guests surged forward in curiosity, eager to witness her next move.
Without a word, Hannah flashed an image of a marriage certificate onto the oversized screen. She'd snapped it onthe day she and Vincent completed their legal registration. She never dreamed she'd one day have to use it to defend her title. It had been such a pathetic marriage. But at least it was ending -today.
As soon as the marriage certificate appeared, the crowd erupted. The "fiancée" was actually the mistress? What a shocking twist!
All gazes swiveled toward Brinley, now laced with distrust and judgment.
Brinley balled her fists, inhaled deeply, and then cast a pitying Look at Hannah. "I'd wanted to spare you the embarrassment,"she said.
Brinley tilted her head slightly, a cunning gleam flashing in her Brinley tilted her head slightly, a cunning gleam flashing in her eyes before masking it with a somber face. "I barely knew you,but I thought you carried decency and pride. So I was crushed -utterly crushed-when I saw that footage."
Brinley hadn't come unarmed. She'd been waitingfor the footage from those four men, but it never came. So, she'd shifted her tactics.
Curious, someone in the room asked, "What footage?"
Brinley paused, seemingly embarrassed to elaborate. "It's... It's a recording of Hannah with four men. Making out. I was stunned.I never imagined she was that kind of person."
Vincent's expression darkened. "Brinley, stop inventing lies."
Danica rushed to her defense, "Why would Brinley fabricate such a thing? She must've gotten something. And who knowS -maybe that is what Hannah is really like."
"I'm not lying, Vincent," Brinley insisted, turning toward the crowd. "It's true. Hannah was..."
With that, she held up her phone and, without pause, streamed the footage onto the wide screen.
Gasps echoed through the venue. Dozens of phones were instantly raised.
The video was short-only five seconds-but horrifying. The frame zoomed squarely on Hannah's face. She was naked, pinned beneath four undressed men. Their faces were obscured, but hers was clearly exposed.
Hannah's breath hitched. The camera clicks she'd faintly heard before passing out now made horrifying sense.
Without saying a word, Vincent strode over and yanked the device from Brinley's grip, terminating the stream at once. "If this footage leaks-even a second of it-everyone here will be this footage leaks-even a second of it-everyone here will be held accountable." His tone was freezing, clipped, and lethal. His gaze swept across the room like blades. Under his stare, everyone froze and then gradually lowered their phones in silence.
