Chapter 586
Alfredo took the card, studying the shiny gold letters and title etched across its surface. She couldn't recognize all the characters on it. "What is this?" she asked. Confusion clouded her expression as she tried to decipher the words.
"Luminara Group, Chairman and CEO, Hannah Scott," Vincent announced, pride threading through his voice. "Should you ever need help or face insurmountable challenges, go to any Luminara Group branch with this card. The employees there will assist you without question."
Alfredo's fingers trembled as she traced the embossed letters. Only now did she grasp Hannah's dazzling, formidable identity. Complex emotions tangled within her chest.
Noting her lingering uncertainty, Vincent offered the most practical advice. "If you don't have a clear plan yet, I suggest you enroll in school. Pursue quality education and discover what possibilities await you."
"School?" The word tumbled from Alfredo's lips, alien and impossibly distant.
Vincent added, "Yes, school. Learn something. Enrich your mind. One day, you might become someone as exceptional as Hannah-someone equally capable of steering your own destiny."
The statement ignited something within Alfredo, cutting through her uncertainty like a blade of light.Becoming someone like Hannah? The goal held a strong appeal for her. She made up her mind in an instant."I want school! I'll study in Agosphia." Agosphia was where her mother had once lived.
"Alright." Vincent's phone was already in hand, orders flowing smoothly from his lips.
Within minutes, he nodded at Alfredo. "Everything is arranged. A vessel will soon come to transport you directly to Agosphia. Your housing and education are taken care of, every need covered. Leave this Chapter buried here, and move forward with your eyes fixed ahead. That's Hannah's wish for you."
Alfredo studied the man who'd meticulously arranged everything for her, emotions churning beneath her ribs. Gripping the bank card and business card like lifelines, she said solemnly, "Thank you. And please thank Hannah for me."
Vincent's tone turned earnest. "Lead a good life. That's the only repayment Hannah would ever want."
Alfredo nodded, resolve hardening in her expression.
Minutes later, a speedboat arrived to collect Alfredo.
Vincent's unease didn't fade as he watched her silhouette disappear across the water. He turned sharply to Nate. "I'm still not at ease with Hannah staying there alone. Starting now, surveillance on the Odin runs around the clock. Our operatives continue to disguise themselves as gamblers. Use every resource to secure her safety and extract whatever intelligence surfaces."
"Understood! I'll mobilize them immediately!" Nate answered without hesitation.
Hannah slipped back into her established rhythm. She cooked Brixton's meals and made calculated appearances in the casino just to slip information to Vincent's operatives under the cover of routine.
But the fragile calm shattered soon enough.
Still seething from the ambush, Brixton's fury eventually redirected toward the women trapped on the second deck.
Vulture had already started negotiations with buyers, and within days, those women would be auctioned off in batches like livestock. Their fate was predictable-exploitation or harvested for organs.
When Vulture briefed Brixton on arrangements for those women, Hannah's chest constricted. She knew she had to act, even if only to steal a few more days. She cut into their conversation deliberately. "Since you're selling them, shouldn't you maximize profit? Right now, they're gaunt and hollow-eyed-they'll barely fetch baseline prices. Feed them properly for a few days and restore some color to their faces. That way, whether selling people or organs, the price could double. We're not pressed for time, are we?"
Her pulse hammered as the words left her mouth.
Vulture thought for a moment and agreed. "Mr. Ward, she's got a point. We're not racing against any deadline for handling those women since we haven't finalized things with Hudson. Besides, we can seize the opportunity to hint at finding a buyer for Aanya. Might shake that cunning Hudson loose!"
Brixton didn't answer right away. His piercing gaze swung toward Hannah, dissecting her in oppressive silence for ten full seconds.
Cold sweat drenched Hannah's spine.
Finally, Brixton's voice emerged, flat and emotionless. "This is the first time l've thought you truly belong on this ship."
Hannah's heart stumbled. "You think I've become ruthless?"
