Chapter 195

The core program for Nova Tech's Smart Wristband 4.0 was finally complete, awaiting only minor finishing touches.

As Polaris Tech's primary shareholder, Hannah swiftly initiated major reforms within the company. She placed emphasis on recruiting talented individuaIs with expertise in gaming, providing them significant creative freedom. Gradually, Polaris Tech regained its momentum, steadily getting back on track.

During this busy period, Hannah received an unexpected call from Irene.

"Hello, Hannah. It's Miles' mother," Irene warmly said.

"Hello, Mrs. Whitaker," Hannah politely replied.

"I'd like to invite you to dinner as thanks for your help the other day. Are you available tomorrow?" Irene extended the invitation.

Hannah instinctively declined. "There's really no need, Mrs. Whitaker. I didn't do much."

Irene insisted firmly, "I won't feel at ease until I've properly thanked you."

Irene's persistent sincerity made it impossible for Hannah to continue declining. Eventually, she conceded."Alright, Mrs. Whitaker. Tomorrow it is."

Delighted, Irene immediately ended the call and sent Miles a swift message. "Gilded Restaurant tomorrow-you must come."

Miles rubbed his temples as he read his mother's message. Recently, his life had become a whirlwind of blind dates, thanks to Vincent's maneuver. He couldn't help but silently grumble at Vincent's over-the-top retaliation, all sparked by a casual remark.

Miles texted back to his mother. "Who's it this time?"

Irene responded quickly, "What are you thinking? I'm thanking Ms. Scott tomorrow, not arranging another date for you!"

Miles breathed a sigh of relief and wrote. "Alright." As long as it wasn't another forced date, he was fine with whatever his mother planned.

Miles' rapid response amused Irene. She had noticed his various excuses whenever the topic of blind dates arose. After numerous failed attempts, she decided to give up on the list of potential matches provided by Vincent and discreetly shifted her matchmaking intentions toward Hannah.

Irene also messaged Daphne, inviting her to join them.

However, Daphne, recalling Miles' previous.annoyed reaction when she introduced a friend of hers to him, politely declined, and Irene didn't push further.

The following day, Irene arrived early at Gilded Restaurant to ensure everything was perfect and ordered their meal.

Hannah and Miles arrived almost simultaneously.

Spotting Hannah, Miles immediately understood why his mother had been so insistent that he leave precisely at ten. Clearly, she hoped they would "coincidentally" run into each other. He sighed inwardly.

Elegantly dressed in a lake-blue dress, Hannah greeted Miles naturally, "Mr. Whitaker." She wasn't surprised. Irene had informed her that Miles would aIso be present.

Walking alongside Miles, Hannah naturally engaged him in a professional conversation.

Vincent had just parked his car when he spotted the two walking side by side. His expression darkened subtly as he stepped out of his car, calling out, "Mr. Whitaker!"

Both Hannah and Miles turned around.

Approaching them calmly, Vincent spoke to Miles, though his eyes fixed on Hannah. "What a coincidence."

"Mr. Jones, what brings you here?" Miles asked, recalling the blind date list Vincent had given to his mother.Feeling mischievous, he leaned toward Hannah, making it look like he placed his hand around Hannah's waist while he didn't. Vincent's gaze sharpened at Miles' subtle action. "Business meeting," he replied curtly.

Miles swiftly added, "We're here to have dinner with my mother."

Hannah glanced at her watch and gently reminded, "We should hurry. We shouldn't keep your mother waiting."

"Of course." Miles agreed. "Excuse us, Mr. Jones."

Vincent watched the pair leave together, his expression inscrutable. Was Miles now introducing Hannah to his family?

Inside the elevator, Miles cast a thoughtful look at Hannah.

Feeling his gaze, Hannah asked uneasily, "Is there something on my face?"

"You seem rather distant with Mr. Jones," Miles remarked straightforwardly.

Hannah smiled faintly, responding lightly, "Have you ever seen former spouses who were particularly friendly?"

Miles withdrew his gaze, apologizing softly, "Sorry for earlier. That gesture was inappropriate."

Hannah understood what he meant and responded graciously,"It's fine. You didn't actually touch me."

"Aren't you curious?" Miles prompted.

Of course, Hannah was curious about the tension between Miles and Vincent, but she maintained a neutral face, shaking her head calmly. "Not particularly."

Miles, however, felt compelled to explain. "Vincent recently flooded my mother with blind date profiles."

Hannah couldn't immediately see how that related to her.

Just then, the elevator chimed open, and Miles stepped out first, adding quickly, "Don't get the wrong idea -I'm not interested in you."

Hannah blinked, slightly confused. Her mind hadn't even wandered that way.Once they entered the private dining room, Irene greeted them joyfully, seating Hannah and Miles side by side.

As the dishes arrived, Irene engaged Hannah warmly in conversation. Suddenly, aknock at the door interrupted them.

Miles, assuming more dishes had arrived, opened the door casually, only to be met by Vincent, bottle of red wine in hand, smiling cheerfully as he greeted, "Irene!"
