Chapter 164
"You're insane! Go get help and stop bothering me!"Hannah said, her patience clearly at its limit.
Vincent took a step forward. "I'm serious."
Hannah let out a mocking laugh. "It was just an experience. You didn't actually think it meant anything, did you?"
"What if I indeed thought it meant something? That 'wedding'-it was beautiful."
Her face shifted, all amusement gone. "If I had the choice, I wish I'd never married you five years ago."
With that, she turned and walked off without another word.
Vincent remained rooted to the spot, the emotions that had surged just moments ago draining from him completely.
Felix spotted Hannah and hurried toward her.He cast Vincent a cutting glance before gently pulling Hannah to his side and guiding her away.
Seeing how tired she looked, Felix hesitated, then pulled out his phone and messaged the guesthouse manager. "Cancel the romantic setting for the confession of my feelings. We'll reschedule."
Brinley finally caught up with Vincent, only to find him standing there, visibly shaken and hollow. Oddly, that gave her a flicker of satisfaction.
Taking a breath, she stepped toward him and spoke gently. "Vincent, the ship's about to dock. I've already arranged a ride-why don't you come back to the hotel with us?"
"No need. I've got somewhere to stay." He had just booked a room at the same guesthouse as Hannah.
Brinley immediately perked up. "Where is it? We'll tag along.Honestly, it'd be safer for me and Daphne to have a guy around while we're traveling."
She looked over at Daphne.
Daphne gave a casual shrug. "I'm fine with wherever,as long as it's decent."
Clearly irritated, Vincent muttered the address without much thought.
Twenty minutes later, the ship docked.
Hannah and Felix disembarked immediately, heading straight for the guesthouse.
Right behind them, a car pulled up.
Brinley hadn't expected to run into Hannah again so soon. She was about to ask Vincent something when she realized he'd already stepped out of the car.
Hannah didn't look back. She walked into the guesthouse, turned to bid Felix goodnight, and was suddenly interrupted by a loud pop.
Colorful streamers shot into the air, leaving everyone momentarily stunned.
The guesthouse manager stood frozen, staring at the scene in confusion. Why were there so many people here?
Felix quickly caught the manager's eye and subtly motioned toward his phone.
The manager quickly picked up his device and finally saw the message about the canceled confession.
At this point, Vincent stepped into the guesthouse and glanced around at the romantic setup. "Is this how you usually greet your guests?"
The manager quickly played along. "Y-Yes! It's our special welcome for new arrivals."
Daphne, not suspecting anything, pulled out her phone and snapped a few shots. "Kind of sweet, honestly."
Brinley didn't buy it for a second.
Hannah had zero interest in the theatrics. She walked straight to her room. Felix followed close behind.
Brinley tried to strike up a conversation with Vincent, but he was already heading upstairs, jaw tight and mood darker than ever.
Vincent barely got any sleep that night. The next morning, as he stepped out of his room, he saw Felix standing outside Hannah's door, handing her a neatly wrapped bouquet of yellow roses. They were the same flowers used in last night's setup.
Hannah's eyes lit up. "These are gorgeous! Where did you find them?"
Felix scratched the back of his neck, looking a little shy. "Saw the staff clearing everything out from last night's display. Figured they'd be thrown out, so 1salvaged them. You like them?"
"I love yellow roses." A smile spread across Hannah's face, soft and sincere. "Thank you, Felix."
They shared a quiet laugh-an intimate, lighthearted moment that immediately made Vincent's blood run hot.
Vincent walked right between them, shooting a pointed look at the bouquet before storming off."Lousy wrapping job."
Hannah watched him disappear down the stairs and then murmured to Felix, "Ignore him. He's lost it."
·Felix wasn't bothered. He'd already reworked his plans with the guesthouse manager. Tonight, he would confess his feelings for her.
