Chapter 136

After returning to Nova Tech, Hannah wasted no time and contacted a divorce attorney. Staying focused on the company's urgent problems was her top priority.

Time kept slipping away as the bidding deadline approached, and with no reliable suppliers in sight, Nova Tech's production process was far from complete. The way things stood, there was no chance VitraMind would agree to work with them.

Over two hours passed while Hannah and Felix combed through every potential supplier they could find. But it made no difference. The suppliers on the list were those they'd reached out to last time, most of whom had already rejected them.

A wave of discouragement washed over Hannah.

Felix paused, considering his options. With the pitch coming up soon, he started thinking about asking his family for help.

Neither of them spoke for a while, the quiet stretching between them.

Sinking into her office chair, Hannah absentmindedly scrolled through news stories on her tablet. Suddenly,a caption caught her eye:"Permanent population on Dace Island has grown to 200,000, with half of them being working-age adults. Most depend on fishing and are reluctant to leave their hometowns..."

That news jolted her upright, and a burst of inspiration shone in her eyes. There was their answer-a labor force ready and waiting. By bringing in young locals and setting up a factory right there on the island, they could control every part of their supply chain. Building independence for Nova Tech would mean breaking free from any outside hold.

Energized by the idea, Hannah turned toward Felix. "I just thought of something crazy."

Felix, curiosity piqued, came over to her."What's on your mind?"

"I'm going to buy this island," Hannah said, her excitement barely contained. She tapped her screen, enlarging the article. "We'll build our factory on Dace Island."

Felix leaned closer, studying the article, and then glanced at her with uncertainty."That's a huge gamble isn't it?"

Hannah nodded, willing to admit the risks. "It's bold, but owning Dace Island would help us bypass nearly every roadblock we're facing."

Getting around their supplier shortage was the main goal right now. Since someone tried to shut them out,Nova Tech would simply handle the supply chain on its own.

No doubt, taking over an island and building a factory from the ground up would be tough. Still, giving up before trying was never how Hannah did things. Whenever she had a goal, she found a way to make it real. That was always her way forward.

Felix's head bobbed as a small smile broke across his face. "Alright. Let's go ahead and buy that island."

Hannah didn't waste a second. "Let's set off now," she said, reaching for her bag.

Before she could leave, Felix gently caught her arm and offered a smile. "It's already past eleven. We need some rest. Let's get a good night's sleep and leave first thing in the morning."

That made Hannah pause, and she finally agreed. "Okay, that makes sense."

...

Across town, Vincent was still sitting in his office long after the clock struck eleven. Focusing on work had become impossible with his mind in turmoil.

He stared blankly at the wall, realizinghe couldn't decide which house to return to. All places felt empty without Hannah there.

Out of nowhere, his phone vibrated with a new message from the company's legal counsel. The draft of the divorce agreement was attached.

A wave of frustration surged through Vincent. Without even opening the document, he typed back.11|sthis all the Jones Group owns? You finished sorting the assets this quickly?"

Seeing the message, the legal counsel broke into a nervous sweat. To clear things up, he decided to call Vincent straight away. He spoke with caution. "Mr. Jones, I wanted to let you know that Ms. Scott's attorney has already contacted us. They're pushing for things to move quickly and-"

Vincent didn't let him finish. "So you just did whatever they wanted? Just because they want it rushed, you skipped doing a proper review?" His tone grew even sharper. "You're the Jones Group's legal counsel.Should I really have to tell you how to do your job?"

The legal counsel stammered,11|−1understand your point, Mr. Jones. I'll get back to negotiating with Ms.Scott's attorney right away."

Without saying anything else, Vincent hung up. Frustration took over as he tore off his tie and sent it flying across the office.
