Chapter 372
"Remove me?" Harvey barked out a harsh, mocking laugh, his features carved with insolence. "I command 51.3% of the shares. Absolute control. None of you can cast me aside."
His declaration thundered with authority, tinged with smugness."No hand in this room has the strength to unseat me."
One of his underlings piped up, shrill and fawning, "Indeed! Mr.Langston holds more than half-thinking he can be ousted is laughable!"
Yet, Hannah merely regarded him, her face unreadable. With measured poise, she drew out an official document. "I, Hannah Scott, together with Felix Wade and Miles Whitaker, hereby place before this shareholders' assembly the motion to dismiss Harvey Langston from the board and his office as CEO."
"Pathetic!" Harvey jeered, as though indulging in some comedy."Fine then! Let us vote. Any who favor my removal-lift your hands."
His gaze swept the crowd with overbearing pride."Ms. Scott, the three of you combined barely scrape above 40%. Who among other shareholders dares align with you?"
His glare raked through the neutral section, cutting like steel.Under his oppressive eyes, most averted their faces, sinking into uneasy silence.
Moments dragged, thick with tension
As Harvey's grin spread wider, from the rear, a quiet gesture broke the stillness. A bespectacled, middle-aged man raised his hand with hesitation. Hannah's eyes caught the motion, faint surprise flashing before she inclined her head.
It was Louis Hinton, a minor investor in Luminara Group, possessing less than 0.5%. "I support Ms. Scott..." he murmured, voice unsteady.
"Splendid," Harvey answered with a chilling curl of his lips. A fool stepping out of line.
With a snap of his fingers, Harvey barked, "Security! This man appears unwell-confused.Escort him out for some rest."
Two security guards advanced immediately, intent on dragging Louis away.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on him!" Hannah's tone cracked like thunder, her eyes burning into the guards.
The two security guards froze instantly, a tremor running through them, hands suspended awkwardly mid-action.
Harvey swung toward Hannah, fury flashing, contempt etched on his sneer. "Hannah, you still fail to grasp reality, don't you?"He gestured toward Louis with derision, raising his smallest finger in ridicule. "A shareholder with just 0.5%? What good is shielding him?"
He stepped closer, voice lowered, laced with venom. "Besides, are you even capable of shielding him?"
Hannah held firm, her reply unwavering. "No matter how minuscule his shares, he remains a stakeholder of Luminara Group. And as long as I stand here, I won't allow you to disgrace him with underhanded tactics."
As her words hung in the air, she cast a fleeting glance at Vincent, seated calmly in the front row.
Vincent responded with the slightest flick of his hand. That single motion was enouqh. From the back, four of Vincent's private security emerged like shadows, swiftly placing themselves between Louis and the two guards.
The two guards froze, trapped, eyes flickering toward Harvey for instructions.
Hannah's lips curved faintly, a blade-thin smile as her gaze returned to Harvey. "Well then, Mr. Langston," she murmured with icy composure, "tell me-do you think I can shield him, or not?"
A suffocating hush blanketed the room.
Harvey's complexion shifted from ashen to enraged crimson, fury boiling under his skin. His teeth clenched as he spat,"Impressive! Truly impressive!"
With a violent wave of his arm, Harvey snapped, "Stand down!"
The two guards recoiled instantly, retreating to the sidelines like beaten hounds.
Harvey's mouth twisted again, every word dripping venom as he glared at Hannah. "I'd love to see you try to remove me-with what?" He jerked his chin toward Louis, scorn thick in his tone."That shareholder with a measly 0.5% of the shares?Ridiculous. Let us witness which fools dare back this madness.Everyone, raise your hands if you support Ms. Scott."
His stare prowled over the room, menacing, daring any soul to rise against him.
The silence returned, heavy and unbroken. No one stirred.
Then, Vincent, deliberate and composed, lifted his hand.
