Chapter 406
Adrian was an individual whom Hannah elevated after taking control of Luminara Group while operating under the persona of Victoria. His ascent required no explanation-he·was intelligent, driven, and highly skilled.
As Hannah spoke, she withdrew a black USB drive from her purse and carefully set it before Adrian.
"Contained inside," she murmured, her tone firm yet hushed, "is proof I personally uncovered. Leonard Yates-head of the Data Analytics Department-has been forging warehouse documentation, diverting defective resources, meddling with refund systems, falsifying safety logs, and targeting innocent staff. The sequence of evidence is solid and indisputable."
Her gaze lifted, sharp as steel. "I want you to act in my stead. Strip him of his authority immediately in the company's name. Then, initiate proper legal action to ensure accountability."
Adrian shifted his eyes from the USB drive to the Woman across the table, calm yet emanating suffocating dominance. His features showed reverence-tinged with confusion. "Victoria, you're the CEO and Chairwoman of Luminara Group. You wield the supreme power. You could dismiss any employee with a single order."
Hannah shook her head slightly. "Adrian, right now,I'm not the CEO. I'm Natalie Preston-a junior data analyst. I joined the company under this identity to conduct a ground-level investigation."
Adrian's composure fractured into raw disbelief and concern. "But... You could have asked someone else to do the job. Such a position is beneath you."
"Nothing is beneath me," Hannah replied, her tone as unyielding as iron. "Every action is for the company.I came in at the ground level to find the rot inside our supply chain. Leonard is only the visible issue. The true danger goes deeper-the cause of inflated expenses, broken data, and frozen R&D." She pushed her glasses up, her voice turning frostier."I already delivered the warehouse violations to Calvin Briggs. Instead of acting, he buried them and enabled Leonard to retaliate against me. That proves Calvin isn't only aware-he's shielding Leonard.Possibly even working alongside Leonard."
Adrian's eyes thinned as the realization formed."Then, tomorrow I'll eliminate both-Calvin and Leonard. Hand them over to law enforcement."
"No." Hannah's rejection was instant. "Calvin cannot be touched. Not yet."
Adrian blinked. "For what reason?"
"Leonard is expendable. Calvin is mid-rank."Hannah's voice dropped to a whisper, carrying an understanding of the larger scheme. "| suspect someone higher is covering them. A figure influential enough to let Calvin suppress warehouse scandals, block the Security Department's inquiry, frame me,and keep his seat despite everything. That degree of protection signals a much larger presence-perhaps senior executive level. Or external forces entirely." Her stare fixed on Adrian, unwavering. "If we strike Calvin now, his backer will retreat further. The real traitor will vanish into the dark. Thus, we begin with Leonard. Cut off Calvin's right hand. Let him stumble. Then, we exploit Leonard's downfall to follow the thread leading to Calvin and the hand guiding him."
Understanding dawned on Adrian. Reverence transformed into resolve. "Understood. We'll strike where you direct. You have my complete support."
Hannah inclined her head, her tone easing only slightly. Together, they leaned in over the table as she began to outline, in hushed detail, the steps of tomorrow's plan.
When their exchange at last concluded and they stepped from the secluded chamber, Hannah and Adrian nearly collided with someone moving along the corridor. It was Vincent.
As Vice President of Luminara Group, Adrian frequently engaged with the Jones Group.
The instant Adrian spotted Vincent, a courteous smile lit his features. He advanced, hand extended in greeting. "Mr. Jones! What a pleasant surprise."
Hannah halted, silently cursing Dorbarrow's size. Out of every possible spot, she hadn't expected to encounter Vincent again so quickly. But what unsettled her more was the stench of liquor surrounding him-so potent that it deepened her frown. How much had he consumed?
Vincent had, in truth, drunk several rounds, yet he remained clear-headed. His eyes skimmed coldly over Adrian with a token nod-civil,perfunctory.
Then, his gaze slid-and fastened on her. His brows tightened. This bold imposter appeared before him again. So it wasn't enough that she borrowed Hannah's face to cling to Claude? Now she was engaging with Adrian Miller of Luminara Group? This woman had set her sights on quite a few men.
Vincent's mouth curved in a razor smile, his stare at her soaked in venomous derision. "What's this?Shifted your target already?"
