Chapter 179

After a long while, Brinley was finally wheeled out of the emergency room.

Once Brinley was settled into her hospital room, she soon regained consciousness. Upon seeing Vincent nearby, she reached out and clutched his sleeve."Vincent, I have something to tell you."

Vincent gently pried off her grip and said in a soft, low voice, "You should rest. I'll go ask the doctor about your condition."

With that, he turned and left the room. After confirming with the doctor that Brnley was no longer in danger, he exhaled in quiet relief.

In the past, at moments like this, he would have stayed by Brinley's side, driven by self-reproach. But now... He didn't return to her room. Instead, he went straight back to the office. Having his mother there was enough. Back in the hospital room, Brinley lay still, her face pale, her eyes fixed longingly on the door.

Danica noticed the look in her eyes and gently suggested, "Brinley, try to rest. Vincent has already gone back to the office."

"He's still angry with me," Brinley murmured, her gaze dropping to the edge of her blanket.

Danica offered a warm, reassuring smile. "Don't think like that. Vincent is still very worried about you. He was pacing back and forth outside the emergency room earlier."

"Really?" Brinley's eyes lit up with a flicker of hope.

"Of course. Vincent only spoke that way out of frustration. Once he cools down, he'll be concerned for you again," Danica said, confident in her son's nature. After all, Vincent had been taking care of Brinley since he was just seven. There was no way he didn't care.

Danica added, "But you must never try to commit suicide again. You can't play around with your life, no matter how upset you feel."

"I was just scared Vincent would end up hating me..."Brinley whispered. "I won't do it again."

At Nova Tech, Hannah returned and immediately sifted through the information the staff had compiled on Evan. They had secured clear photos of Evan interacting with Brinley-concrete evidence that he had breached the company's confidentiality agreement.

Felix, upon seeing the materials, looked grim. "What are you planning to do?"

"Since Brinley went to such lengths, she deserves a fitting payback," Hannah said, carefully storing the files. "Now, we need to push the release of the wristband 4.0-before anyone has the chance to accuse us of stealing their work."

She planted her hands firmly on the table. "Have the representatives from VitraMind come here?"

Felix gave a slight nod. "Yes, they've arrived."

"The Al integration is critical. I'll oversee it myself."

"Alright." Felix paused and then asked cautiously,"What about the overseas issue? How do you plan to handle that?"

"I'm collecting proof to hold Brinley accountable,"Hannah replied with a faint, unreadable smile.

Felix watched her intently and then said with quiet sincerity, "If you need anything, just say the word.I've got your back."

"Thank you," Hannah responded, her tone softer now.

The tension from their last meeting had faded, replaced by a sense of camaraderie. Working closely together had melted away the awkwardness that once stood between them.

Hannah spent the entire day collaborating with VitraMind's technical team, working tirelessly to advance the Al features in the new watch. Near the end of the day, she was unexpectedly handed a large bouquet of red roses-no card, no name.

The team at Nova Tech instantly began teasing her about a secret admirer, but Hannah only laughed it off.

Thinking it might be Felix, she joked, "Did you send me flowers as a reward for working so efficiently? Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment."

She tried to brush it off with humor, but Felix simply replied, "I didn't send those."

An awkward silence followed.

Realizing Felix wasn't the sender, Hannah's thoughts turned to Vincent. Could this be his way of trying to win her back? Determined to avoid another misunderstanding like last time, she removed Vincent from her block list and sent him a photo of the bouquet. Vincent was in the middle of a meeting when he saw Hannah's message. His expression darkened instantly.

Unable to restrain himself, he typed. "Is Felix pursuing you? Red roses? How unimaginative."

Then, he wrote again. "Are you trying to show off?"

A thought struck him, and he tapped his screen. "Or are you dropping a hint of wanting me to send you flowers?"

He gripped his phone tightly, sending only three messages-barely holding back more. His eyes flicked to the screen every few seconds.

Five minutes passed. No reply. He couldn't resist and sent one more message. "Why aren't you replying?"

But this one failed to deliver. Hannah had blocked him again. Vincent's jaw tightened, his face shadowed with frustration.

Meanwhile, Hannah, reading over Vincent's messages, realized one thing clearly. He hadn't sent the roses either. Then who did?
