Chapter 413
The echoes of Leonard's curses still lingered in the corridor as security dragged him out of Adrian's office.
News spread like wildfire. Everyone in the Data Analytics Department now knew-Leonard had been fired.
When the word reached Marissa, her face drained of color. She shrank into her chair, trembling. Leonard had been fired. What would become of her now?Would she be dismissed as well?
Before she could spiral further, the sharp staccato of heels cut across the floor. A furious voice rang out."Leonard! Get the hell out of here! Tell me who that homewrecker is!"
Heads snapped up in shock.
A plump, middle-aged woman stormed in, clutching several photographs in her hand, her eyes wild and searching. It was Leonard's wife-Tracy Yates.
At the entrance, Leonard froze at the sound of her voice. His body shuddered as he lifted his head in dread. "H-Honey, what are you doing here?"
Tracy's eyes locked onto him. She stormed forward and slapped the photos against his face. "What am I doing here? Look at what you've done!" Her voice was sharp with venom. "Tell me, who's this tramp?"
The photos fluttered to the floor for all to see-Leonard's arm wrapping around Marissa's waist,Marissa kissing his cheek, his hand boldly resting on her hip. Every detail was clear. Every pose left no room for doubt.
Gasps erupted as employees craned their necks to look.
Leonard's face turned ashen. He hastily said,"Honey, I can explain! It's not what it looks like-l...I have nothing to do with her!" "Nothing to do with her?" Tracy's voice quivered with rage. She jabbed at the photo with a shaking finger."She's kissing you, and your hand is on her backside! What kind of 'misunderstanding' is that? Do you take me for a fool?"
Her eyes swept the office, searing with fury. "Which one of you is she? Who's the mistress? Get out here right now!"
The room fell silent. No one dared breathe.
Marissa stared fixedly at her desk, praying to disappear. But Tracy's glare zeroed in on her without hesitation.
"It's you!" Tracy roared, lunging forwvard and yanking Marissa's hair. "You shameless whore-seducing my husband and wrecking my family! I'll tear you apart!"
"Ah!" Marissa shrieked, clawing frantically at Tracy's hands.
Leonard rushed forward, panic-stricken. "Honey, stop! Please, stop-it's a misunderstanding!" Seeing her husband protect his mistress only drove Tracy into a frenzy. One hand twisted Marissa's hair while the other raked her nails across Leonard's face.
The office erupted into chaos. Papers flew, chairs toppled, and the three of them writhed in a messy brawl at the center of the room.
Employees scattered back in alarm, unwilling to get caught in the melee.
At the doorway, Hannah stood quietly, watching. The faintest smile touched her lips. This was the surprise she had prepared for Leonard. She had sent those photos to Tracy herself-and the outcome was even better than she imagined.
Casting one last glance at the scene, Hannah stepped forward with calm, deliberate strides. She reached for the intercom on the supervisor's desk. Her voice was steady and commanding as it rang through the chaos: "Security. Remove these three troublemakers immediately."
"Yes, ma'am!" The security captain snapped to attention, dispatching his men at once.
The guards swarmed in, forcing the trio apart and dragging them out, kicking and screaming.
Silence settled over the office once more.
Hannah walked to the doorway of the supervisor's office. Her gaze landed on the enamel mug Leonard had treasured for years, stamped with the words Director of the Year.
She picked it up. With a sharp crash, she hurled it into the trash bin.
The metallic clang rang out, making every heart in the room jolt.
Turning, Hannah faced the stunned employees. Her back was straight, her voice calm and unwavering."From this day forward, I am the new supervisor of the Data Analytics Department. Let's deliver fruitful results by working seamlessly."
Her words froze the staff where they stood. A woman who had joined less than a month ago, dismissed as a suspected traitor, had returned-suddenly installed as their supervisor? Just what kind of background did she have?
