Chapter 487
Me Another Favor
Hannah had sent a message to Vincent thirty minutes earlier, telling him to come fetch her.
While her thoughts lingered on that, a black Rolls-Royce Phantom glided effortlessly to a stop in front of the gallery.
The door swung outward, and Vincent, carrying a black umbrella, strode toward the gallery doors.
Hannah's grin widened as she saw his silhouette nearing. She inclined toward Erica, murmuring so only Erica could catch it,"How unbearable it must be-the man you ache for has only ever had eyes for me. Always has been, always will be. You will never have him-not even a glimpse."
"You wretch!" Erica shrieked with a piercing cry, her eyes blazing red as she suddenly lunged forward and shoved Hannah hard."Burn in hell!"
Hannah had foreseen this and allowed herself to collapse backward. She screamed in mock alarm, arranging her fall so she looked messy but took no harm.
Vincent entered precisely in time to see everything unfold. His eyes narrowed instantly as he dashed forward and lifted Hannah from the ground. Then, he pivoted sharply, his stare cutting into Erica, his tone erupting, "What do you think you're doing?"
Erica quivered beneath Vincent's glare, her complexion drained of all color. She flailed her hands wildly. "I barely touched her!She staged the fall on purpose!"
Right then, Danica rushed inside, clutching her umbrella.
Right then, Danica rushed inside, clutching her umbrella."What's going on? Vincent, don't be too harsh on Brinley! Please calm yourself!"
Vincent sliced a cold look at Danica, his tone edged with warning. "Keep her in check!"
He dismissed them and turned his attention to Hannah in his hold, his words tight. "Are you alright? Did you get hurt?"
Hannah knitted her brows slightly, answering feebly, "I think I hurt my backside."
Vincent's features grew grim. He bent down, sliding one arm beneath Hannah's legs and the other around her back, hoisting her securely.
The driver stepped up immediately, raising the umbrella above them.
Hannah curled her arms around Vincent's neck, angling her face to peer past his shoulder, catching Erica's stare. A taunting curve touched her lips as their eyes locked.
Erica staggered, gasping for air as her chest constricted.
Danica steadied her quickly, whispering reassurance, "Brinley, maybe you should give up on Vincent. I despise Hannah as much as you, but Vincent has chosen her. There's nothing I can do."
Erica's gaze clung to their retreating figures. For her to give up on Vincent? No fucking way!
Inside the car, Vincent's brows pressed together."We'll head to the hospital for an examination!"
Hannah straightened, her face settling back to composure. "No need. I was faking it."
Vincent's frown deepened.
Disregarding the flicker of emotion across his expression,Hannah retrieved her phone, swiftly activating the tiny bug she had hidden inside the frame of the painting Erica bought.Within moments, Erica's and Danica's clear voices flowed through her earphones.
Hannah listened carefully, her brows furrowing more as time passed. The dialogue amounted only to complaints, missing the critical clues she wanted.
"Nothing but worthless chatter..." Hannah muttered in dissatisfaction, pulling the earphones away.
When Hannah lifted her head, Vincent's gaze was fixed upon her.
"What is it?" Hannah asked evenly.
Vincent's Adam's apple bobbed slightly. "You used me again."
Hannah held his stare, admitting openly,"Yes."
After a moment's pause, she added, "Could you do me another favor?"
Vincent's forehead creased faintly.
Hannah's eyes locked on him, her tone deliberate. "Try to win Erica over and make her reveal the truth."
Vincent stayed wordless, a chill radiating from him.
"You don't want to? Then forget it!" Hannah shifted quickly."Help me with something else instead. Go home later and tell your grandma not to accept that painting from Erica. Is that okay?"
Vincent offered no reply, his gaze lingering, while silence filled the car.
The vehicle slid quietly into the underground garage of Sterling

Neither spoke during the ride.
Vincent escorted her all the way to her door.
As Hannah entered, Vincent stepped after her, slamming the door shut behind them. Without warning, he seized her wrist, yanking her hard against the door.
Caught unprepared, Hannah was pinned against the wooden panel.
Vincent loomed above her, one hand clamped on her wrist, the other pressed against the door by her ear. He leaned close, his breath searing and edged with fury, as he demanded,"Hannah! How could you say something like that?"
