Chapter 366
"Unsettled matters?" Erica laughed, the sound exaggerated and grating, as if she had just heard the most absurd thing in the world. Her laughter echoed through the empty warehouse, laced with a chilling madness. "Yeah, it's time to settle the score!"
The laughter cut off abruptly, her eyes narrowing with venom."Hannah Scott! You caused your parents' misfortune! Your father would have been alive, and your mother wouldn't have been injured if you hadn't been clinging to Vincent following your divorce! You are to blame for their incident!"
"Shut up!" Hannah snapped, lunging forward.
A sharp crack split the air as Hannah's palm struck. She had poured every ounce of strength into that slap, sending Erica staggering back a step, stunned by the blow.
Hannah seized Erica by the collar, dragging Erica close, her eyes blazing with fury. "What did my parents ever do to deserve this? If you've got a problem, take it out on me! Why go after them?"
Erica's head turned from the strike, but instead of fear, he lips curved into a sinister smile. "Take it out on you? No way! I want to watch you lose everything... To see you fall apart, sink into despair, even wish you were dead! That's what I want!"
"Enough!" Vincent's cold voice sliced through the chaos. He stepped forward, his presence commanding and sharp. "What exactly are you trying to say?"
His patience had reached its limit. All he wanted was to end this conversation and get Hannah out of this nightmare Erica flinched under Vincent's icy stare, but then her eyes glowed with an even crazier intensity. A frightful smile contorted her face as she spun back to Hannah. "What am I trying to say? Hannah, I'm telling you... That fire in your store that burned you alive? I had someone set it. Those three unreasonable women who ruined your new store's opening?I hired them. The man-nurse who attempted to force you off the roof to pretend to fake a suicide? That was me in disguise."
With each confession, her smile widened, her tone growing more disturbingly cheerful. "Oh, and your car crash, the one that left nothing but a scorched frame? The hitman inside?|paid him fifty million to take you out."
She gave a little shrug, her voice dripping with malice."What a pity... You survived. Otherwise, none of this would have happened. Now, how does it feel? Startled?"
Hannah hadn't seen it coming. Her fists clenched tight, her voice cutting cold. "So you've been after me all along."
Vincent's expression darkened, reaizing how many times Erica had come terrifyingly close to killing Hannah.
"That's right!" Erica admitted, her grin stretching with glee. "I came back because Brinley, that fool, landed in prison, and you and Vincent were divorced! I thought it was finally my turn to stand by his side. But you just kept lingering, always hovering around him! I couldn't take it-I hated you!" Her voice rose with raw spite.
"Very well," Hannah said, forcing her tone steady, "you'll be hating me from a prison cell for the rest of your life." She pulled out a small recorder hidden in her sleeve. Every one of Erica's confessions had been captured word for word.
The manic grin on Erica's face only widened as her gaze locked onto the recorder. "Well-prepared, aren't you? But do you think I care? | confessed because | don't intend to deny!" Suddenly, the sharp wail of police sirens cut through the air outside. The authorities had arrived.
Erica didn't turn. She fixed her gaze on Vincent. "Vincent,I just want you to know, I have no regrets, and I love you."
In a flash, she whipped out a metal lighter and clamped onto Hannah's wrist.
Vincent's eyes widened in alarm. Erica intended to take Hannah down with her!
