Chapter 402

When Vincent returned to the Jones family estate, the first sight that greeted him was Sharon beaming with delight, holding the hand of the woman impersonating Hannah. The atmosphere in the room was warm, almost familial.

Vincent's demeanor hardened at once. So this was the "guest" his grandmother had spoken of.

"Grandma." Vincent's tone was quiet,clipped.

"Vincent, you're back! Look who's here!" Sharon exclaimed, grinning widely, her voice overflowing with delight.

Erica inclined her head in a courteous acknowledgment of Vincent.

Vincent refused to grant her a glance. His brow tightened sharply. "The guest you mentioned is her?"His words were flat, as though verifying something

Sharon's grin wavered, bewilderment rushing into her gaze. "Why are you reacting like this? This is Hannah!"

Sharon couldn't fathom it. Vincent had once gone to desperate extremes to keep Hannah by his side, persistent and unyielding. Now that she stood before him again, why did he react with nothing but cold detachment, even disdain?

Erica lowered her eyes, her tone controlled and deliberate. "Sharon, I only came to see you. I'll forever appreciate that you remained with me after my parents' tragedy last year. As for everything else... I'd rather not involve myself."

Her phrasing was courteous, yet the hidden suggestion was unmistakable-"everything else"meant Vincent. She cast him a glance, adopting Hannah's signature frown.

Vincent's eyes narrowed. She had closely mastered Hannah's mannerisms. The mimicry was nearly

convincing. Nearly. But the true Hannah would never fix her eyes on him that way-never with a hint of gauging his reaction. She despised him, and her stare had always been unwavering, piercing, and icy.

"Sharon, I'm relieved to see you in good health,"Erica murmured, rising gracefully. "It's late already.I should be going."

Sharon clasped her hand, unwilling. "Hannah, why don't you stay the night?"

Vincent's voice sliced through the space. "What is your actual purpose here?"

Erica matched his gaze. "To visit Sharon, of course."

Vincent scoffed at himself for raising the question.Of course, that would be her reply.

"Aubrey, escort her out," Vincent commanded coldly. He refused to spare a tiny bit of respect for this imposter.

Sharon cast Vincent a reproachful glance. He ignored it.

Erica raised her head and exited with practiced composure. Once inside the car, her lips curled with triumph. Vincent might dismiss her as a stranger, but she had managed to fool Sharon. Sharon's absolute faith-that was her advantage. Vincent's doubt was irrelevant. She still had another act prepared for him, which would surely earn his trust.

Back inside the estate, Sharon swatted her grandson lightly. "Vincent, honestly-aren't you going to run after her?"

Vincent's brow furrowed more deeply."Grandma,do you truly think that woman is Hannah?"

Sharon appeared shaken. "If she isn't Hannah, then who else could she be?"

Vincent said nothing, pensive. Whoever she might be,he would uncover the truth.

The following morning, by the time Hannah entered Calvin's office, Leonard and the others were already

present with the remaining senior staff.

Hannah had arranged everything beforehand. No stacks of sheets, no printed files-every detail of proof and analysis appeared neatly displayed on the screen of her open laptop.

She reported, her tone firm and professional. "Mr.Briggs, regarding the unusual patterns in the company's trial data, my initial review indicates that one of the central flaws arises from the supervision of Warehouse No.3."

Calvin reclined in his leather seat, fingers interlaced, wearing his customary gentle expression. Yet,beneath it lingered a shade of scrutiny and intrigue. He motioned for her to proceed.

Hannah broke down her findings with cutting precision. Her account was concise, well-organized,and struck directly at the core issue. She emphasized the chaotic warehouse oversight and the careless blending of faulty batches without hesitation.

Calvin's easy smile gradually stiffened. The curiosity in his gaze shifted into genuine astonishment-and a flicker of unease. He had believed the newcomer would notice only surface anomalies. He hadn't imagined she would strike straight at the true fracture.

Leaning forward, his tone dropped. "Ms. Preston, this is outstanding work. You've identified the issue with remarkable precision. These failures in warehouse oversight and data control are extremely grave and must be dealt with immediately. All of the evidence is here on your laptop?"

"Yes, Mr. Briggs," Hannah answered evenly, holding his gaze.

"Excellent." He nodded faintly and then altered his tone. "But for the sake of thoroughness-and confidentiality-all original evidence needs to be held under departmental custody. Copy the entire folder to me, including the raw photos and video files. And|assume you've kept backups? Hand them over to me."

Hannah's eyes flickered, yet she inclined her head."Alright."

She handed over the materials as instructed. Once her report concluded, she left the office quietly.

The instant the door closed, Calvin fixed a sharp look on Leonard. "See what you've caused?"
