Chapter 597

After Hannah's departure, a heavy silence descended on Hudson's office, thick and oppressive.

Baque Dury, Hudson's loyal aide, entered with silent steps.′′Mr. Chadwick, are you truly letting Ms. Scott walk away? She holds dangerous leverage over us."

Hudson's voice remained icy. "Let her go? Not a chance. No one threatens me-least of all her. This is Agosphia. My realm."

He issued orders with sharp precision. "Withdraw our operatives from the hospital where they're exposed. But stay vigilant-double the surveillance secretly. Secure every exit. The instant Vincent regains consciousness, lock the facility down. Not a whisper escapes."

He continued, his tone growing colder, "I doubt the vulnerable Vincent, confined to a hospital bed, dares challenge me then. He'll have no choice but to bend to my terms."

His voice darkened further. "Assign an operative to tail Hannah relentlessly. I want detailed reports-her every step, hercontacts, her schemes."

Baque inclined his head. "Understood. I'll see to it immediately."

Meanwhile, in the hospital room, Hannah stood vigil beside Vincent, who lay motionless on the bed, still lost to unconsciousness.

The doctor, having completed his assessment, delivered a sobering diagnosis. A postoperative infection had taken hold in Vincent's system, fueled by neglected wound care and seawater contamination.

"When will he wake?" Hannah asked, her voice edged with anxiety.

The doctor shook his head gravely. "It's uncertain. It hinges on his response to treatment. If we can curb the infection, if the fever subsides, and his vitals stabilize, he might wake. But there are no guarantees."

Hannah's heart sank as she pressed further. "Given his condition, could we transfer him to another

hospital?"

The doctor's brow creased with concern. "Transfer him? In his state? With an active infection, persistent fever, and the risk of aggravating his condition, it's reckless. Are you trying to save him or endanger him further?"

Hannah asked with measured care, "If the infection is under control, his vitals are stable, and he's improving, would a transfer be possible then?"

The doctor hesitated, weighing the question. "If the infection clears, his vitals remain steady, and he's accompanied by a skilled medical team with proper equipment to protect the wound, then theoretically, yes. But it's still risky, and I'd strongly advise against it."

"I understand. Thank you," Hannah said, storing his answer.

At that moment, Nate returned from his investigation. He reported in a low voice, expression grave. "Ms.Scott, it's confirmed. Unknown vehicles and personnel have been stationed around the hospital long-term,especially at the main entrances and exits. Surveillance is tight. Plainclothes, ordinary cars... Almost certainly Hudson's people. Hudson may have agreed to pull them back, but the hospital is effectively locked down."

Hannah's eyes hardened. "I expected as much. He won't give up so easily."

Nate's jaw tightened. "How about I take a few of our men, find Hudson's people's exact positions, and rough them up? Teach them a lesson-they'll fall in line."

Hannah shook her head, weighing the danger. "No. Hudson's operatives are elite. A frontal clash would alert him and give him a reason to retaliate. Vincent's safety and treatment come first. We can't add more complications."

She paused, resolve sharpening. "But I have a plan. Hudson has rivals in Agosphia's political arena."

She instructed Nate quietly, "Find a way to leak, discreetly and anonymously, pieces of the evidence we have linking Hudson to Brixton, the sea-casino operations, and his plot to detain Vincent just to seize the port-to his political enemy, Sullivan Prescott, the Minister of the Political Department. If Sullivan makes a move, Hudson will be distracted and have less bandwidth to monitor us."

Nate's eyes lit up. "Ms. Scott, that's brilliant. I'Il handle it right away."

"Wait," Hannah said, lowering her voice to reveal the final step. "When Sullivan acts and Hudson is overloaded, that's our window. Arrange a private plane and professional medical escort. Ensure they are ready to go at a moment's notice."

Nate frowned. "Are we transferring Mr. Jones? Didn't you say we must wait until he's stable?"

Hannah's gaze didn't waver. "We're not transferring him. We're taking him straight back to Dorbarrow. That's the safest place."
