Chapter 101
Julian Langley glared coldly at Ethan Sullivan.
The man's acting skills were truly masterful.
"Would winning an Oscar make Evelyn Laurent talk to me?" Ethan's voice was hoarse. "Then I'd gladly accept it."
Julian nearly laughed in disbelief.
The sheer audacity of this man.
He studied Ethan with a frown.
The transformation was startling.
When Ethan had kicked the door open earlier, the stench of alcohol had hit Julian like a wave.
Ethan had drunk the most, his entire body reeking of liquor, his cheeks flushed from the fight. Yet his eyes were terrifyingly clear.
Julian couldn't tell if this was drunken nonsense or genuine confession.
"Get lost," he snapped, waving a dismissive hand. "You've already taken every advantage."
His gaze swept over the two drunkards. "If you keep causing trouble, I'll call Nathaniel back."
Xander Quincy jolted. "No! Don't bother Fourth Brother!"
"You call him 'Little Four'?" Julian narrowed his eyes.
Xander immediately turned sycophantic. "Third Brother! You're my real brother!" He grabbed Julian's arm, the alcohol fumes making Julian recoil.
In the end, Julian became their designated driver.
At least they all lived in Beverly Hills.
When they reached the Sullivan estate, Ethan suddenly dug in his heels. "I want to see Evelyn."
"She's asleep," Julian said coldly.
Ethan's eyes darkened. Silently, he stepped out of the car.
His walk was perfectly straight, showing no sign of intoxication.
Julian watched his retreating figure until the butler came to receive him.
The moment Julian stepped through his own front door, Victoria Langley raised her feather duster. "You went drinking?"
"Mom! I didn't drink!" Julian stood at attention. "It was Ethan and the others!"
"Ethan knows how to drink?" Victoria scoffed.
"I drove them home!" Julian protested.
The feather duster finally lowered.
Julian exhaled in relief.
Even an Oscar-winning actor had to be an obedient son at home.
