Chapter 492

Beatrice Quincy's pupils constricted violently.

Her entire body froze as she stared at Evelyn Laurent standing in her living room.

The wineglass slipped from her fingers.

Crimson liquid bloomed across the white carpet like fresh blood.

"H-how did you—"

Beatrice's voice trembled.

She had specifically moved to the most secluded mansion in Cloudhaven. Her father had stationed twelve elite bodyguards around the clock.

Yet this woman had appeared before her without a sound.

"Climbed through the window."

Evelyn shrugged casually and settled onto the leather sofa.

She crossed her slender legs, fingertips drumming the armrest.

"Did you really think hiding here would keep me away, Miss Quincy?"

"Or that hiring more bodyguards would make you safe?"

A chill crawled up Beatrice's spine.

The smiling woman before her was more terrifying than any demon from hell.

"What do you want?"

Beatrice clung to her last shreds of composure.

Evelyn leaned forward, cold glinting in her eyes.

"Where's that old bastard Reginald Quincy?"

"I-I don't know—"

Beatrice shook her head frantically, nails digging into her palms.

Evelyn studied her for a moment before smiling.

"Then call him. Video call."

She pulled out her phone leisurely. "Now."

Reginald Quincy's face appeared on screen, paternal warmth in his expression.

"Beatrice, why are you—"

His smile died instantly.

The screen showed Evelyn embracing Beatrice's shoulders, flashing him a sweet smile.

"Long time no see, Uncle Quincy."

Reginald's face drained of color.

He watched his daughter shivering on screen as Evelyn's fingers ghosted over her throat.

"What... what do you want?"

Reginald's voice shook.

Evelyn's smile widened.

"Simple."

She leaned closer to the camera, red lips parting.

"Ethan Sullivan and Xander Quincy."

"In exchange for your precious daughter's life."
