Chapter 61

The downpour outside rattled the windows when Gregory Evans jolted awake to Benjamin Klein's call.

"The forum's exploding!" Benjamin's voice cut through the storm.

Gregory tumbled out of bed. The computer's blue glow cast shadows across his ashen face. His vision swam at the sight of Harvard University's forum homepage flooded with red-hot posts.

"Handle this now!"

His fingers trembled as he dialed the forum administrator. Simultaneously, he fired off an urgent message to Ethan Sullivan.

Ethan's reply came startlingly fast. A detailed list materialized—each username matched to a real identity.

Gregory stared at the names with a bitter laugh. This would be an all-nighter.

——

In the Grand Hyatt's hallway, Ethan had just hung up after calming Benjamin.

He turned—and froze.

Evelyn Laurent stood in the doorway. Her gaze was colder than the rain lashing the windows.

"What happened?" Her voice held a razor's edge.

A flicker of panic crossed Ethan's eyes before his composure returned. "Nothing major."

Evelyn's stare could flay skin. She'd overheard the call. Sensed the tension.

"Ethan Sullivan. Don't lie to me."

That look made his chest constrict. For a heartbeat, he saw the fierce little girl from his memories.

"Rumors on the forum." He softened his tone. "Already contained."

Evelyn arched a brow. "That's it?"

Her nonchalance left him speechless. Six brothers were tearing the forum apart, yet she remained unshaken.

"The rumor-mongers..." Her eyes narrowed to slits. "Just beat them up."

Ethan shook his head. "Not an option."
