Chapter 216

"I'd love to meet someone like her. She's incredible."

A group of girls whispered among themselves, stealing glances at Evelyn Laurent.

Evelyn noticed their stares but paid no mind.

She walked straight into the Physics Department classroom.

The room was already half-filled with students.

"Sister Evelyn! Over here!" Lillian Rothschild waved excitedly.

Ever since their last group project, Lillian had become Evelyn's biggest admirer.

Eight other girls from their group quickly gathered around.

"Try this sandwich, Sister Evelyn!"

"I bought your favorite milk tea!"

"You have to taste this chocolate—it's amazing!"

Within moments, a small mountain of snacks piled up before Evelyn.

She looked at their bright, eager faces and felt warmth bloom in her chest.

Evelyn accepted their gifts without protest.

She couldn't bear to see their hopeful expressions dim.

Sophia Lowell entered the classroom just as the scene unfolded.

Her fingers tightened around her backpack straps as she silently took her seat.

"Such a show-off," Lydia Montgomery muttered under her breath, leaning closer. "Just because she's pretty."

Lydia came from modest means with average looks.

She desperately clung to Sophia's coattails for social leverage.

Sophia's lips curved slightly. "Ignore her. Let's focus on ourselves."

She opened her textbook but couldn't process a single word.

Sebastian Royston had been missing for nearly a week.

That lunatic better stay gone forever.

Sophia shuddered at the thought of what would happen if he returned.

Just then, murmurs rippled through the doorway.

Nigel Winthrop stood in the hallway, sunlight glinting off his perfectly styled hair.

"Could someone fetch Sophia Lowell for me?" he asked politely.

A messenger soon approached.

Sophia frowned but stepped outside.

"Breakfast for you." Nigel smiled, handing her a paper bag.

The bag bore the logo of the most exclusive patisserie in the city.
