Chapter 80
"Professor Sullivan, perhaps you should choose a new class representative."
The classroom erupted in murmurs. Several female students gazed longingly at Ethan Sullivan standing at the podium.
"Then we'll decide by lottery."
Ethan's tone was indifferent. His slender fingers swiped lightly across the screen.
Names scrolled rapidly on the display before stopping at one—Sophia Lowell.
Ethan's pupils constricted sharply.
He stared fixedly at the name, his knuckles tightening unconsciously.
Sophia sprang up from her seat, her face alight with triumph. She shot a challenging glance at Evelyn Laurent, her lips curling in victory.
"Which student is Sophia Lowell?"
Ethan's voice remained gentle, but his eyes were icy.
"That's me!" Sophia eagerly stood up, deliberately flashing her sweetest smile.
"From now on, you'll be my class representative."
With that, Ethan turned and left without granting her another glance.
The moment the bell rang, Sophia chased after him to his office.
"Professor Sullivan, may I add your WeChat?" She extended her phone toward him, subtly displaying her delicate wrist.
Ethan impassively scanned the QR code to approve the request.
Sophia's fingers trembled with excitement. This was the heir to the Sullivan Group! She had actually obtained his contact information!
"I look forward to working with you." She took a step closer, her perfume drifting faintly between them.
Ethan suddenly narrowed his eyes. "This necklace..."
His gaze locked onto the silver star pendant around Sophia's neck.
"Huh?" Instinctively, Sophia covered the necklace, her eyes darting. "I've worn this since childhood. It might be something important."
Ethan's breathing noticeably quickened.
"May I see it?"
Sophia sensed his unusual reaction and feigned shyness as she unfastened the necklace to hand it over.
The silver star glimmered with fragmented light under the sun. Ethan's fingertips trembled slightly.
