Chapter 66

Harvard professors were notoriously low-profile.

They rarely appeared on campus forums.

Publicly berating students was unthinkable.

"Enough talk! Come with us!"

The head security officer barked. Several burly guards immediately restrained the three students.

"On what grounds are you arresting us?"

"We're exchange students! We have IDs!"

"Let me go!"

They struggled violently against the iron grips. Fear crept into their hearts as confusion set in.

The commotion woke the entire dorm floor.

Students rubbed sleep from their eyes and peeked out.

A thunderstorm raged outside.

Security personnel swarmed the halls.

This level of mobilization was unprecedented.

When the trio reached the dorm supervisor's office, Dr. Gregory Evans was waiting.

Rain lashed against the windows.

Water still dripped from Evans' hair.

He'd rushed to campus after receiving Ethan Sullivan's list.

This couldn't wait until morning.

Evelyn Laurent was Harvard's prized protege.

She wouldn't suffer injustice.

Especially not after enduring vicious rumors for a week.

Delaying action risked irreparable damage.

Along with the three instigators, over a dozen copycat harassers were brought in.

All fell silent upon seeing Evans' stormy expression.

"You three started this?"

His gaze cut like a blade.

The exchange students came from the same university.

Respectable, but no Harvard.

Now they trembled before the dean.

"We...we just shared opinions..."

Evans slammed the desk.

Printed forum posts scattered across it.

Every malicious comment clearly visible.

"Opinions?" He sneered. "This is blatant defamation!"

The office held its breath.

"The university has contacted law enforcement."

"Your exchange privileges are revoked."

"You'll be escorted home at dawn."

Evans turned to the others, voice glacial. "The rest receive disciplinary marks. Tomorrow's bulletin will announce it."

Rain hammered the windows like a judge's gavel.
