Chapter 245
The six Langley brothers turned in unison, their piercing gazes fixed on Ethan Sullivan.
Victoria Langley's teacup paused mid-air.
Richard Langley arched an eyebrow, surprise flickering in his eyes.
Ethan stood tall, a faint smile playing on his lips. His heart had melted into pure tenderness.
Warmth radiated from his chest, spreading through every limb.
His gaze remained locked on Evelyn, so tender it could drip honey.
"Impossible!" Theodore was the first to leap up. "We never saw you give any gift!"
He scratched his head, utterly baffled by his sister's claim.
The other five brothers darkened, the air around them turning heavy.
Victoria and Richard exchanged a glance, curiosity gleaming in their eyes.
Ethan remained unruffled. "Of course I prepared a gift."
His smile deepened as relief washed over him. Against the Langley brothers' siege, he'd emerged victorious.
Theodore stormed to the pile of presents and flung a document onto the table. "This? Ten mansions and five companies? And Evelyn's favorite?"
Evelyn blinked in surprise. She remembered this extravagant gift clearly, assuming it was from her parents.
Ethan calmly replied, "That wasn't from me."
"Then who?" Theodore's eyes widened.
"A token of appreciation from my father," Ethan said smoothly.
Theodore faltered. No wonder it was so lavish—it came from Mr. Sullivan.
He pressed on stubbornly, "Then where's yours? What did you give her?"
Evelyn's pulse quickened.
The transfer agreement was safely tucked in her bag, its edges pressing into her palm.
"Here," she said softly, unfolding the document. "He gave me a shooting range."
The brothers instantly crowded around.
"Isn't that the old stadium in East District?" Julian exclaimed.
Ethan nodded. "Good memory, Julian."
The abandoned stadium had been purchased overnight and transformed into a professional shooting range.
Alexander's eyes sharpened. "You acquired and renovated it in ten days?"
"How many people can it even hold?" Theodore muttered sourly.
Losing to his brothers was one thing, but to this outsider? Unacceptable.
