Chapter 200
Two bodyguards swiftly escorted Sebastian Royston away from the scene.
Harrison Whitmore arrived with the remaining team and gasped at the sight of bodies strewn across the ground.
His legs nearly gave out beneath him.
The gruesome scene reminded him of the first time he'd witnessed Evelyn Laurent's terrifying prowess.
"What? Thought I killed them?" Evelyn shot him a disdainful glance.
Harrison finally noticed the unconscious men were still breathing and exhaled in relief.
"You flatter me, Miss Laurent." He wiped the cold sweat from his brow.
Ever since seeing her bend steel pipes bare-handed, he'd regarded this young heiress with deep reverence.
"Did you catch the mastermind?" Evelyn flexed her wrists.
Before they'd left, Ethan Sullivan had warned her about the ambush and asked if she was afraid.
Afraid?
Since when did Evelyn Laurent fear a fight?
Aside from alcohol and enclosed spaces, very few things in this world could unsettle her.
"He's already been delivered to Mr. Sullivan," Harrison replied respectfully.
Evelyn's gaze drifted toward Sophia Lowell, who cowered in the corner. "You handle these men," she said lazily.
She stretched, savoring the pleasant ache in her muscles.
It had been too long since she'd enjoyed such a satisfying brawl.
Harrison immediately directed the bodyguards to douse the unconscious assailants with water.
Moans and pleas for mercy soon filled the air.
"Take them all away," Harrison ordered coldly.
He didn't even glance at Sophia as he passed her.
Miss Laurent had made it clear she wanted to deal with the girl personally.
Only after everyone had left did Sophia stagger to her feet, trembling.
Horror filled her eyes.
How could Evelyn fight like that?
Even more shocking was Harrison's deferential attitude toward her.
"They caught the mastermind?" A sudden thought made Sophia's eyes gleam with manic delight.
If Sebastian Royston had been captured...
She might finally be free of that monster!
The idea made her burst into hysterical laughter.
