Chapter 140
Ethan Sullivan blinked innocently at Evelyn Laurent.
She shifted uncomfortably under his gaze and cleared her throat. "I insisted on drinking. He tried to stop me."
A low chuckle escaped Ethan, his eyes softening with warmth.
"I want some too!" Theodore Langley snatched the bottle and downed it in one gulp.
Normally under strict family supervision, he seized this chance to indulge thanks to his sister.
Julian Langley quietly retreated to a corner.
One drink was enough to knock him out.
Sebastian Langley sipped politely, maintaining his usual elegance.
As a lawyer, Dominic Langley had the highest alcohol tolerance among the brothers.
Theodore was the life of the party despite being a lightweight.
Evelyn had already polished off two bottles without batting an eye.
Ethan massaged his temples in frustration.
He'd hoped for alone time with Evelyn, but now found himself surrounded by four protective brothers.
His gaze drifted toward the doorway, wishing Victoria Langley would appear to rein in her sons.
No such luck.
Beatrice Quincy noticed Julian's isolation and immediately abandoned her friends.
"Mr. Langley." She flashed a dazzling smile, locking eyes with him. "Long time no see."
Julian stood stiffly and offered a perfunctory handshake. "Ms. Quincy."
Beatrice produced an autograph book from her purse. "Would you sign this? I'm your biggest fan."
She batted her lashes, feigning familiarity.
Julian frowned as he scribbled his signature and returned the book.
Undeterred, Beatrice pressed on. "I heard you're joining a family reality show? Which relative are you bringing?"
His expression turned icy. "That's none of your concern."
The production required confidentiality, yet she dared pry.
Beatrice stuck out her tongue playfully. "Don't misunderstand—I'm also invited. Just curious."
"Then you should respect the rules." Julian's tone was distant.
Unfazed, she grabbed a glass. "My apologies. I'll punish myself with a drink."
She tossed it back with practiced ease.
Evelyn slammed her bottle down, eyes blazing. "Beatrice Quincy, what's your game?"
