Chapter 154
Sophia Lowell's nails dug deep into her palms.
How could she not know about Celestia Designs' policies?
E-invoices? ID registration? She had none of those!
She shot Lillian Rothschild a venomous glare.
This meddlesome woman was to blame!
"If you're so certain, why not show us the e-invoice?" Evelyn Laurent said coolly.
"Yeah, Sophia. You keep accusing Evelyn of stealing. Maybe you're the imposter?"
"Stop throwing baseless accusations around!"
Sophia trembled but forced her chin up. "Why should I prove anything to you? Who do you think you are?"
Evelyn narrowed her eyes.
This paper tiger was putting on quite the act.
The game was getting more amusing by the minute.
"Fine. No proof needed." Evelyn leaned lazily against the desk. "Then explain—how did this bracelet end up at my seat?"
Her gaze swept the classroom like a blade before landing on Walter Evans. "You claimed I was the last to leave. But I clearly saw you stay behind."
Walter flinched, his face paling. "Lies!"
"Accessing security footage is child's play for me." Evelyn's voice turned icy. "Should I invite the principal to review the tapes?"
She deliberately drew out her words. "Confess now, or face the consequences."
Sophia's nails bit into her flesh.
When had this bitch become so cunning?
Her eyes darted nervously, but she forced composure.
Evelyn couldn't possibly trace this back to her.
"It was me!" Walter suddenly screamed, breaking down. "I planted the bracelet!"
The classroom erupted.
"You despicable snake!"
"Playing the righteous act earlier? Disgusting!"
Under the barrage of scorn, Walter panicked. "Not my idea! It wasn't me!"
He pointed frantically to the corner. "It was Lydia! Lydia Montgomery made me do it!"
Lydia went deathly pale, her eyes flicking to Sophia.
"How could you do this?" Sophia suddenly shrieked. "Why frame Evelyn?"
