Chapter 16

Evelyn lunged forward and kicked Vincent to the ground.

"Ah!"

Vincent howled like a slaughtered pig, rolling in humiliation.

"Ungrateful wretch! You ill-bred trash!" He clutched his stomach, snarling.

Evelyn smirked, yanking his collar before delivering a dozen sharp slaps.

Slap! Slap! Slap!

The crisp sounds echoed through The Grand Hyatt's banquet hall.

Blood gushed from Vincent's nose. His teeth loosened as he collapsed, trembling.

"Evelyn! This is The Grand Hyatt!" Margaret shrieked.

Evelyn backhanded her, sending the woman spinning three times.

"I'm beating all you garbage today!"

She seized Margaret's hair, raining more blows.

Brandon scrambled to escape.

"Running?"

Evelyn stomped on his back.

"Didn't get enough jail time? Who let you insult me?"

She grabbed a chair and smashed it over him.

"Ah! Help!"

Brandon wet himself, sobbing for mercy.

The hall fell deathly silent.

Every guest gaped at the spectacle.

This athletic girl fought like a storm, her words sharper than blades.

Upstairs in the VIP lounge, Ethan Sullivan never looked away.

He'd never seen her unleash violence like this.

That ferocity reminded him of the stubborn little girl from years ago.

"Ethan, that's the Langley heiress?"

Oliver Valentine appeared behind him, eyeing the scene with amusement.

"Hmm." Ethan's response was curt.

"Tsk. Such a spitfire. You'll have your hands full." Oliver teased.

A dark glint flashed in Ethan's eyes as his lips curved slightly.

Below, Evelyn finally paused, breathing hard.

Vincent's family lay crumpled like discarded rags.

Sophia wept into her hands, hatred burning in her heart.

Then the banquet doors swung open.

The Langleys entered with their six sons.

Victoria Langley's face darkened at the wreckage.

"Mr. Langley! Madam Langley!" Vincent cried like a drowning man. "This bitch ruined everything! Throw her out!"

Margaret screeched, "Make her kneel and apologize!"

Victoria's icy gaze swept the room. "Who disrupted my daughter's party?"

Evelyn dusted her hands and turned.

The hall became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
