Chapter 205
Ethan Sullivan's slender fingers tapped lightly on the menu as he selected Evelyn Laurent's favorite dishes.
He lounged lazily against the leather sofa, his gaze trailing her slender figure.
Evelyn circled the buffet area before returning swiftly with a plate.
"That was fast," Ethan arched a brow.
She slid the plate toward him. Two delicate cakes exuded a sweet, rich aroma.
"Something to tide you over." She turned away again.
Ethan stared at the desserts, his lips curving unconsciously.
He carefully sliced a small piece with his fork. The cream melted on his tongue, sweetness flooding his chest.
Being remembered like this—it felt good.
When Evelyn returned, she carried two glasses of fresh juice.
A figure suddenly darted from the hallway corner. She barely had time to react before cold juice splashed onto the stranger.
"Are you blind?" A shrill voice pierced the air.
Evelyn looked up into Margaret Hill's pinched face. The woman's expression shifted from fury to terror, as if she'd seen a ghost.
"Mom!" Sophia Lowell peeked out from the private room, her face paling at the sight of Evelyn.
"Why stop now?" Evelyn smirked coldly.
Margaret forced a grimace uglier than a sob. "M-my mistake..."
Evelyn had no patience for them. She walked away without another word.
This restaurant belonged to the Lowell empire. Every cent Margaret and Sophia spent here would flow back into the family coffers.
Let them keep being fools with their money.
