Chapter 220
Sebastian Royston thrashed violently, the metallic clank of shackles echoing through the sterile room.
His wrists were raw and bleeding.
"Nathaniel Langley! You're insane!"
The hysterical scream bounced off soundproof walls.
Nathaniel adjusted his cuffs with deliberate slowness, his frosty gaze magnified behind gold-rimmed glasses.
"Still not accustomed after two days, Mr. Royston?"
He trailed fingers along gleaming surgical instruments on the steel tray.
Sebastian's pupils contracted to pinpricks.
"My family will destroy you!"
His voice cracked with unshed tears.
Nathaniel's lips curved as he selected a syringe.
"Sedative. Or perhaps..."
His attention shifted to the scalpel's razor edge.
Sebastian trembled like a cornered animal.
"I was forced into this!"
Nathaniel shook his head, the needle glinting under fVossrescent lights.
"The volunteer agreement bears your signature."
He leaned down, voice deceptively gentle.
"Tell me who ordered the attack on Evelyn."
Sebastian bit his lip until it bled, sweat soaking his hospital gown.
The needle pierced skin. His scream shredded the air.
Nathaniel impassively depressed the plunger.
"Just the first dose."
Removing his glasses, he revealed eyes that promised nightmares.
"Don't worry. I'll cure your psychosis."
"My way."
Sebastian convulsed, eyeballs bulging.
Nathaniel activated the recorder, clinically noting observations.
"Abnormal muscle tension. Pain sensitivity increased 300%."
He bent close to Sebastian's ear.
"Know why I chose you?"
"You touched what's mine."
The syringe lifted again. Sebastian broke.
"The Croix family! It was Liam—"
Nathaniel froze.
He set the needle aside, patting Sebastian's contorted cheek.
"Should've cooperated sooner."
His white coat swirled like an arctic wind as he turned away.
