Chapter 297
Julian Langley was packing his luggage when the knock came.
He frowned and opened the door, his expression instantly turning icy at the sight of Beatrice Quincy's flawlessly made-up face.
"What do you want?" He braced one arm against the doorframe, making no move to let her in.
Beatrice flipped her hair with a practiced smile. "I heard the Oscar-winning actor Julian Langley was joining this season's show. Thought I'd drop by to say hello."
She rose on her tiptoes, peering over his shoulder into the room. "I wonder who your partner will be this time—"
"None of your business." Julian cut her off, his voice frigid. "If that's all, I need to rest."
He moved to shut the door.
Beatrice hastily pressed a hand against it. "Wait! I—"
Bang!
The door slammed in her face, the gust of wind tousling her bangs.
Trembling with rage, she dug her nails into her palms.
An Oscar-winning actress like her—when had she ever been treated with such disdain?
Inside the suite, Evelyn Langley was curled on the sofa watching past episodes.
"Third Brother, you're too harsh on women." She didn't look up. "Beatrice looked like she was about to cry."
Julian scoffed. "She was acting."
He sat beside his sister just as the screen showed him and Theodore Langley bumbling through a game challenge.
"Why are you watching this?" He reached for the remote.
Evelyn dodged with a grin. "It's hilarious."
A flood of LOLs scrolled across the screen:
[Is this really an Oscar winner's gaming skills?]
[Theodore looks ready to strangle his brother]
[Guess they traded brains for looks and talent]
What annoyed Julian most was how Beatrice always swooped in to "rescue" him during these moments.
Shippers spammed the comments:
[Beatrice is so protective of Julian]
[This ship is canon]
"Third Brother," Evelyn leaned in suddenly, "you're not actually into Beatrice, are you?"
"Never!" Julian nearly leapt off the sofa. "That two-faced woman makes my skin crawl!"
Evelyn collapsed into giggles.
At dawn the next day, production vans arrived at the hotel.
A new season of filming was about to begin.
