Chapter 304
Hugo Rothschild vaulted over the obstacle wall with feline grace, landing squarely before the cargo net.
The other contestants lagged far behind, their movements clumsy in comparison.
Julian Langley watched with a faint smile, his gaze tracking the agile figure.
His sister Evelyn was performing exceptionally well.
"Little brother?" Evelyn prompted again.
The staff member snapped out of his daze. "Right! This is the spot."
As she reached for the door, he hastily added, "But we can't open it until all contestants finish."
Evelyn withdrew her hand, standing composed at the finish line.
The survival kit was as good as hers.
Crystal Rothschild and others gaped at the timer, stunned by Evelyn's staggering lead.
Hugo arrived second, a full minute behind Evelyn.
Leo Clemenson panted as he stumbled across the line. "Miss Laurent, your speed is insane!"
Evelyn merely glanced at him without responding.
Liam Croix followed, dusting himself off awkwardly. "Evelyn, I take back what I said earlier."
His face burned with humiliation.
The group assembled at the finish—except for Beatrice Quincy.
The cameras panned to the pit obstacle where Beatrice struggled pathetically.
After multiple failed attempts to climb out, tears welled in her eyes.
The live chat exploded:
[Help Beatrice already!]
[That useless Bianca!]
[Faking seasickness? Disgusting!]
Bianca Fairchild fought through her nausea, staggering toward the pit.
"Sis, let me pull you up."
Beatrice grasped her hand gratefully. "Thank you, Annie."
In that instant, cold calculation flashed in Beatrice's eyes.
She yanked hard.
"Ah!"
Bianca toppled into the pit, her skull striking a rock. Blood gushed instantly.
"Annie!" Beatrice shrieked in feigned alarm.
