Chapter 363
"Alright." Evelyn Laurent agreed briskly.
Bianca Fairchild always tempered her sharp edges around Beatrice Quincy, but her black belt in taekwondo was nothing to underestimate. Last time Beatrice caught her off guard was pure luck.
Ethan Sullivan's expression darkened instantly.
He never expected to guard against Julian Langley, only for Bianca to swoop in.
"Third brother, you and Ethan handle the vines." Evelyn tilted her chin at Julian. "Gather some branches later."
Julian grinned ear to ear.
For the first time, he found Bianca rather pleasing. He nodded eagerly. "Don't worry, I'll get it done."
The glee in his tone was unmistakable.
That Ethan kept finding excuses to hover around Evelyn had long grated on him.
First he broke off their engagement, now he wouldn't stop pestering her.
Trying to win his sister back?
Over his dead body.
Ethan saw right through Julian's thoughts.
Watching Evelyn's retreating figure, he suddenly called out, "Evelyn."
She paused and glanced back.
Ethan caught up in quick strides, his gaze intense. "I'm coming with you."
"Your hand—"
"It's fine now." He held it out. "I'm worried about you."
Evelyn arched a brow. "Nothing on this island can touch me."
Her tone carried careless arrogance.
But Ethan stubbornly grasped her hand. "Let me stay with you."
The warmth of his palm sent a tremor through her.
She met his unwavering stare, those eyes brimming with concern.
Behind them, Julian ground his teeth in frustration.
Ethan shot Bianca a warning glance, his eyes dark with unspoken threat.
