Chapter 364
Bianca's gaze flickered between the two of them before she lowered her lashes and took half a step back.
"My head still hurts," she murmured, fingers absently brushing the bandage at her temple. "You two go ahead."
Ethan immediately seized the opportunity. "I'll stay with you." His voice betrayed barely contained eagerness.
Evelyn finally remembered Bianca's injury. She bit her lip in regret. "Rest well, then."
The corners of Ethan's eyes crinkled with barely suppressed joy. He casually positioned himself beside Evelyn, close enough to catch the scent of sea breeze in her hair.
[OMG Ethan's gaze is lethal!]
[He literally glows when looking at Evelyn!]
[Bianca is such an angel TT]
The live chat exploded. Everyone could see the unmistakable adoration shining in Ethan's eyes.
Evelyn was busy scanning their surroundings. She kicked aside a loose pebble, frowning slightly. "Hope we find some game."
"Tired of fish?" Ethan chuckled.
"Had it every day in the village." Her pout made her look like a petulant child.
Suddenly, sharp cries pierced the sky. A flock of seagulls circled above the waves.
Evelyn's eyes lit up. She swiftly bent to gather a handful of smooth stones, testing their weight in her palm.
Ethan held his breath.
With a flick of her wrist, the stones cut through the air. The startled gulls scattered, the last stone barely grazing a wingtip.
"Missed." She kicked the sand in frustration.
Watching her puffed cheeks, Ethan fought the urge to pinch them. "They'll come back," he soothed.
The sea wind tangled Evelyn's hair as she watched the retreating birds, oblivious to the tender devotion in the man's gaze beside her.
