Chapter 43
Sophia Lowell's face turned deathly pale.
Her lips trembled, but no words came out.
Evelyn Laurent curled her lips in disdain. "Seems like it's not that you look down on it—you just can't reach it."
Mocking laughter rippled through the crowd.
Sophia clenched her skirt, her nails digging into her palms.
Her proudest achievement as an exchange student had become a joke in Evelyn's presence.
"You worthless trash!" Margaret Hill shrieked hysterically. "You couldn't even touch the gates of Harvard!"
Brandon Lowell chimed in, "Yeah! How dare a country bumpkin laugh at my sister?"
Evelyn's eyes turned icy.
She moved like lightning.
A sharp slap echoed across the campus entrance.
Three boys lunged at her—only to be kicked back with brutal efficiency.
They crashed to the ground, howling in pain.
"Cross me again, and you'll regret it."
Evelyn turned toward the university gates, her silhouette sharp as a blade.
Sophia lay sprawled on the pavement, her white dress smeared with dirt.
Her eyes burned with venom as she stared at Evelyn's retreating figure.
She refused to believe Evelyn could enter.
The crowd held its breath.
Evelyn calmly produced an admission letter—the embossed school crest gleaming under the sunlight.
"A special admission letter?!" someone gasped.
Sophia froze as if struck by lightning.
Her scream pierced the air. "Impossible!"
The crowd erupted.
Harvard's special admissions were reserved for once-in-a-generation geniuses.
Business cards were thrust toward Evelyn from all directions.
"Miss, let's get acquainted!"
"I'm from Evergrande Group—"
The Lowell family stood rooted in shock.
Sophia trembled violently, her vision blurring.
She finally understood—Evelyn had planned this all along.
A bloodcurdling scream cut off abruptly.
Sophia collapsed like a felled tree.
The commotion at the gates faded into the distance.
Evelyn strode into the campus without a backward glance.
The chaos behind her ceased to exist.
