Chapter 466
Xander Quincy carried a bundle of fireworks, finding Bianca Fairchild curled up in a corner of the Quincy family estate.
The small girl hid behind a pile of discarded items, her slender frame trembling uncontrollably.
"Bianca!"
He knelt down, gently grasping her ice-cold hands.
Bianca lifted her tear-streaked face, relaxing slightly upon recognizing him.
"Brother...I'm scared..."
"Don't be afraid. I'll set off fireworks with you."
He led her to the courtyard and lit the first sparkler.
Golden sparks bloomed in the night, illuminating Bianca's awestruck face.
"Beautiful?"
"Mhm!"
She nodded vigorously, eyes shining like stars.
They spent half the night setting off fireworks until Bianca fell asleep in his arms.
"Brother, will you watch fireworks with me every year?"
The drowsy girl murmured before drifting off.
"Yes."
He made the solemn promise.
But later, he broke it.
Xander wiped away tears as he rose with his cane.
The nurse station clock showed 11:40 PM on New Year's Eve.
After signing discharge papers, he left the hospital without looking back.
His wheelchair crunched through fresh snow.
Though he didn't know Bianca's whereabouts, he resolved to search every city.
Fireworks illuminated Beverly Hills' night sky.
Evelyn Laurent twirled across the lawn with two sparklers.
Golden arcs traced her movements.
"Careful!"
Sebastian Langley called out, lighter in hand.
Ethan Sullivan leaned against a pillar, his camera following the joyful figure.
Click.
Another photograph captured Evelyn gazing skyward, fireworks reflected in her eyes.
"Evelyn! Family photo time!"
Theodore Langley announced.
The Langley family assembled quickly.
Victoria Langley suddenly pulled Ethan forward. "You two should join us."
Vincent Sullivan stood beside Richard Langley.
Ethan found himself beside Evelyn.
"Three, two, one—"
The camera immortalized the moment.
Against a backdrop of bursting fireworks stood a finally reunited family.
