Chapter 65
Sophia Lowell curled up under her blankets, the cold glow of her phone screen casting eerie shadows across her contorted face.
Her nails dug deep into her palms as she stared at the flood of comments defending Evelyn Laurent.
What were these sudden posts?
Those people claiming to be Evelyn's professors even had Harvard faculty verification badges?
Impossible!
She'd investigated thoroughly—Evelyn was just an uneducated country bumpkin!
Sophia's breathing turned ragged, her chest heaving violently.
With trembling fingers, she sent a voice message to her clique: "Seniors...please don't worry about me...Evelyn is...truly exceptional..."
Her voice carried the perfect tremble of suppressed tears.
Her phone immediately buzzed with frantic responses.
"Sophia, don't be fooled! Those are obviously paid trolls Evelyn hired!"
"Just wait—we'll teach her a lesson!"
"That bitch deserves to be ruined!"
Three male students typed furiously in their respective dorm rooms, eyes bloodshot with rage.
"Professor Klein? Don't make me laugh! Evelyn's not worthy!"
"Special Harvard admission? More like sleeping her way in!"
"How much is Evelyn paying you? I'll double it!"
Their insults grew increasingly vicious, fingers flying across keyboards.
Suddenly, all three screens went black simultaneously.
"What the—"
"My account got suspended?"
They exchanged bewildered glances just as their dorm doors burst open.
Campus security officers stormed in, faces grim.
"So you're the ones spreading slander online?" The lead officer barked. "And insulting Professor Klein?"
"We didn't—" they chorused in panicked denial.
The officer冷笑ed, thrusting forward a phone screen.
"Professor Klein personally filed the complaint. The evidence is irrefutable."
All color drained from their faces.
One boy's legs gave out, collapsing to the floor in a heap.
